Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about how Myth-Kit fits your table. We’re an independent D&D 5e companion — not affiliated with Wizards of the Coast, D&D Beyond, or Roll20. Features evolve; the app always has the latest detail.
-
Is Myth-Kit for players, DMs, or both?
Both. You use the same web app: players manage characters and join campaigns; DMs create campaigns, invite people, run sessions and world content, and control combat and encounters. Everyone meets in shared campaigns with role-based tools.
-
Is Myth-Kit a virtual tabletop (VTT)?
No. Myth-Kit does not replace Roll20 or Foundry-style play. There are no shared battle maps, token dragging, or built-in video/voice. It’s a companion for sheets, rules reference, combat tracking, and campaign organization — great alongside whatever you use for maps and voice chat.
-
How does my group share a campaign?
A DM creates a campaign in the app and shares an invite link. Players sign in, join, and link their character. The same campaign holds sessions, notes, world info, combat, chat, loot, XP, and more — visibility depends on roles and DM choices.
-
How is the compendium different from sites like 5etools?
Myth-Kit’s reference material is built around licensed SRD content (e.g. CC BY 4.0) inside the app — it’s not a dump of every published book, and it’s tied to your account and character workflows. Community reference sites are separate; we focus on integrated play, not reproducing every source.
-
What about Pro and server sync?
Free tier limits apply (e.g. number of characters, campaigns, and homebrew). Real-time server sync and WebSockets for a campaign are available when the DM for that campaign has Pro. If the DM is on the free plan, that campaign may remain local-only on devices. Pro users also get cloud backup options in settings. On this site you can upgrade to Pro; full details and pricing also appear in the app.
-
Where do I manage my account, subscription, or delete data?
On this website: sign in at Log in, then use Account for usage and plan, Upgrade for checkout, and Legal & attribution for export and account deletion (when signed in).
In the web app: open Settings for the same account tools, billing portal shortcuts, and in-app legal screens.
-
How do I get Myth-Kit on my phone or desktop?
Start with the web app — open it in your browser and sign in. For install options (PWA home screen, Google Play when available), see Get the app.
-
What platforms are supported?
Myth-Kit runs in the web browser and can be installed as a PWA on many devices — desktop Chrome/Edge, Safari on iOS (Add to Home Screen), Chrome on Android. An Android store build may be available depending on release; see Get the app and announcements.
